Welcome to the Region of Waterloo Child Care Registry and Waitlist

The online application for licensed child care

On January 12th, The Province announced that Ontario students will be returning to in-person learning on Monday, January 17th and Emergency Child Care will end on Friday, January 14th.

Emergency Child Care

Please note: The demand for Emergency Child Care is extremely high and we currently have a waitlist. To ensure that critical health care services can remain available, we will be prioritizing frontline health care workers, long-term care home staff, and child care staff at this time. Eligible families will be contacted if spaces become available.

The Region of Waterloo is coordinating an Emergency Child Care (ECC) program for school-age children while all elementary schools are closed to in-person learning.

The program is being offered at no cost to parents/guardians who work outside of the home in prioritized health care and other frontline services.  ECC spaces are very limited. To determine if you are on the prioritized list of eligibility for ECC and to apply, click here.

Applications for ECC will not be accepted through OneList Waterloo Region.  If you have already tried to apply through OneList, please apply through the Region’s webpage.
